Bio
The Israeli pianist, Batia Murvitz, performs chamber music regularly in major halls and concert series in Israel and Europe. She has played in workshops for singers at the Israeli Opera and has appeared on Israeli Television and Radio.
Between 2014 and 2024, prior to her relocation to Austria, she was invited regularly to play piano, celesta and cembalo by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has also performed in chamber music festivals such as “Schoenberg Festival” in London and “Viva Sibelius” in Helsinki together with Amaya Trio. She participated in prestigious series such as the Berlin Philharmonie foyer, and the Juilliard School of Music.
Batia appeared as a soloist with the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, performing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto.
Batia was a guest member of the faculty of the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation, Mumbai, and also taught piano for several years at the International Tabeetha School in Jaffa. She was also the pianist of “The Sound of Music” musical in Israel.
Batia has taken part in master classes with leading musicians such as Ida Haendel, Jonathan Zak, Gyorgy Pauk, Miriam Fried and Pnina Salzman. Her teachers include Gerta Edelstein, Pnina Salzman, Menahem Pressler and Natasha Tadson. She received her B.Mus with honors from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, Tel-Aviv, where she won first prize in the chamber music competition. She received her Performer’s Diploma from the Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University, Bloomington. She graduated with M.Mus from the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music.
